For those of you who have never been before, Google maps bring you right into the yard to Lanacre Barn Gallery!
Please remember that WIFI does not work in many areas once you are up on the moors, therefore you cannot be sure to be able to access the website to check directions once you get near.
The Gallery is 300yds up the hill north of Landacre Bridge.
If you are travelling on the Tiverton to Barnstaple link road there are roadworks at the North Molton turn off. If coming from Tiverton direction you have to continue for a mile further and double back at the roundabout enabling you to re-join the N.Molton road. From here it is 20 minutes max to Lanacre Barn Gallery. Continue straight through N.Molton then on up onto Exmoor. Eventually you pass a pub on your left called the Sportsman Inn and after about 300yds there is a left hand turn to “Landacre” , take it, and continue over a cattle grid and down the open moor to Landacre Bridge. The gallery is 400 yds up the hill the other side of the bridge.
If you are travelling from Withypool: approx 10 minutes, and avoids the ford. Go over Withypool bridge leaving the shop and tea rooms behind you. Take a right hand turn after 100 yds . Drive approx two miles over the moor, over a cattle grid and after 300yds turn sharp right, signposted Landacre, leading you down to Landacre Bridge. The gallery is over the bridge and approx 300yds up the hill on the right.
If you are travelling from Exford: approx 7 minutes, over Exford bridge leaving the White Horse behind you and immediately turn left. Continue to top of the hill and go straight over at the crossroads. This takes you down to a ford, slowly through the ford and up the other side, over the cattle grid, across the moor, down the hill and the gallery is on your left.
If there is continuous heavy rain then occasionally the ford becomes impassable! In which case there is a way around from Exford.
Go over Exford bridge and continue straight for about a mile and a half. Turn left signposted to Dulverton. After about 200yds there is a small turning to the right, single track road, continue past a farm to a fork and go left . After about half a mile you go up a steep hill at the top of which there is a very sharp right hand turn. Up to cattle grid, over the moor and down approx 200yds and Lanacre Barn Gallery is on your left.
Look forward to welcoming you.
